Walforf School of Cape Cod Holiday Faire
Saturday, November 21 , 10 a.m. – 4 p.m.
Waldorf School of Cape Cod
85 Cotuit Road, Bourne , MA
Travel back in time to the days of Merlin, Arthur, market fairs and knightly challenges on Saturday
November 21st , from 10 am to 4 pm, as the Waldorf School of Cape Cod presents its 19th annual
Holiday Faire . This year’s event promises to be a magical faire with medieval flair, offering unique
shopping opportunities, crafts and activities for children of all ages, delectable food, and lively
performances by talented local musicians. Costumed characters add to the fun, as they roam
throughout the faire hawking their wares.
This year we’re planning an extra special Adults‐Only event – a Friday evening, pre ‐ Faire shopping
opportunity complete with mulled cider, hors d’oeuvres and entertainment by the Falmouth
Fiddlers. Spread the word to friends and neighbors – it promises to be one of the best holiday
shopping venues on Cape Cod.
The Merchants Hall is a great place to start your holiday shopping. Twenty‐eight juried artisans offer
unique handcrafted items including handmade journals, hand‐carved birds, woven and felted
textiles, prints and photographs, Ukrainian Easter eggs, specialty dyed natural yarn, wooden toys,
cloth dolls, spectacular jewelry, handmade soap, hand‐dyed silk items, a stunning array of ceramics
and gourmet food and candies. You can even order pies and other goodies for the upcoming
holidays!
In several activity rooms, children create small treasures to bring home or give as gifts for the
holidays ‐ hand‐dipped beeswax candles, miniature snow‐globes with holiday scenes, or tiny tiffany
votives to brighten the window on a cold winter night. Young children and their parents are invited
to join faculty in one of the Early Childhood classrooms for relaxed play and scheduled storytelling
and activities.
New to the Faire is the Excalibur Challenge. Merlin offers a chance for the young and young at heart
to attempt to pull the sword from the stone and prove him or herself the rightful king or queen. Is
there an Arthur amongst us this year? And for those seeking yet more physical fun, join with
Shenandoah Sluter , creator of Alotta Hoopla for some hooping madness or test your knightly mettle
in feats of wit and skill in the Dragon’s Den.
Amidst shopping and revelry, enjoy a hearty lunch in the Tavern in the Cavern, hosted by Jim Murray
of The Nimrod in Falmouth , MA or stop by the Tea Room for a delectable array of sweets and
savories.
The Waldorf School of Cape Cod is a non‐sectarian, non‐profit organization serving families through
Barnstable , Plymouth, and Bristol counties. The Holiday Faire is Saturday, November 21st, from 10
am – 4 pm at the Waldorf School of Cape Cod, 85 Cotuit Rd, in Bourne . Suggested admission is $3 for
adults, free for children. The first 500 families receive a free Waldorf School of Cape Cod 25th
anniversary cotton shopping bag! For more information, contact the school at 508‐759‐7499 or visit
the school’s comprehensive website at www . waldorfschoolofcapecod .org.
