Subject: Bourne Science Fair Info. Need Volunteers for judging Fri 3/30/12/ 6-8pm
"This year we have more science fair participants than ever before. So far about 160 students (we usually have abut 70-80), and I know there are more to come.
The latest breakdown:
100 entries from grades 5th-8th
80 entries k-4th
Great participation. We couldn't be happier. However this means we may have to procure more outside volunteers to assist in judging. We are in great need of more judging to allow the night to move along quickly and on time. The more judges we have the quicker it is.
Here is the official volunteer invite containing pertinent information.
Dear Potential Evaluators,
The Bourne PTA cordially invites you to be an evaluator (judge) at this years Science Fair on Friday, March 30, 2012 from 6pm-8pm in the Bourne Middle School Gym. We appreciated the great response we received last year from those of you who evaluated. Thank you. Some of you even had your pictures in the paper. It is wonderful to see the participation of our community. We hope to see some new faces to add to our growing Science Fair. If there is anyone you feel may be interested in being an evaluator and did not receive this e-mail, please feel free to forward this invite to those individuals. We are continually updating our evaluator list. We do not want to inadvertently leave out any interested parties. You will notice one new attachment authored by the Massachusetts State Science and Engineering Fair among the Bourne Schools helpful guidelines sheet for Grades K-5 and Grades 6-8th. The MSSEF attachments give some great guidelines on how to be a good science fair judge. This will explain an evaluators job and hopefully make your decision that much easier. You may find this guidelines sheet useful, if you plan on attending the fair, as you progress through the students exhibits. Thank you in advance for your support of our science minded children. If you have any questions feel free to contact me or any one of the Tri-chairs.
Thank you,
Amy Dunn, on behalf of the Science Fair Tri-Chairs
(Science Fair Tri-Chairs: Deirdre Doucette, Brenda Kerr, Belinda Rubinstein)
