The Bats Among Us presented by the 300 Committee & Salt Pond Areas Bird Sanctuaries
Would you like to know more about the bats living around the Cape and Islands? In this talk, Luanne Johnson, a local wildlife biologist, will share information on the biology, habitat needs and conservation of our local bats. She will also offer tips on how to live safely with bats around your home. Luanne has been monitoring and studying wildlife on Martha's Vineyard for twenty years, focusing on beach-nesting birds, skunks, river otter, willet and bats. In 2011, she and her colleague, Liz Baldwin, founded the non-profit BiodiversityWorks to conduct wildlife research and monitoring in our region and to mentor high school and college students in field biology.
