Positions available at the following levels*:

  *   Park Ranger GS-4 ($17.32/hour)
  *   Park Ranger GS-5 ($19.38/hour)
  *   Deckhand XF-3 ($17.87/hour)

* NOTE: Pay references 2022 pay scale. (2023 pay scale has not been published as of the date of this post)

Seasonal Park Rangers work as part of a team and independently to:

  *   Maintain recreational facilities for the benefit & safety of visitors
  *   Patrol recreation areas & service roads in vehicle or on bicycle to help ensure visitor & resource safety
  *   Staff the Cape Cod Canal Visitor Center and lead interpretive programs
  *   Preserve, manage & protect natural resources



Temporary Deckhands:

  *   Assist the Small Craft Operator with navigation duties as prescribed in the U.S. Coast Guard Navigation Rules.
  *   Assist with terrestrial and electronic navigation.
  *   Assist with passenger safety supervision.
  *   Utilize tools and equipment to include grapnel hook, boat hook or net to remove floating debris and hazards to navigation from waterways.
  *   Prepare vessels for mission by inspecting plant fluids, machinery, and lifesaving equipment.
  *   Perform routine manual labor duties such as preparing surfaces to be painted by chipping, scaling, and removing old paint.
  *   Must be available May 1 – Sept 30
