Volunteer Opportunities!


Teaticket Elementary School

Math with ELL student: Mrs. Geist is looking for a volunteer(s) to work with a Level 1 ELL student in 3rd grade with basic math skills (addition and subtraction facts). The student is available Monday through Thrusday from 12:00 to 12:30 pm. If you can help, please contact Mrs. Geist<mailto:kgeist at falmouth.k12.ma.us>.



Band Volunteers: Mrs. Huelsman is seeking volunteers to support her 4th grade band students, specifically with the flute, clarinet, saxophone, trumpet and/or trombone. Practice is held on Wednesdays from 3:20 to 4:25 pm. If you can help, please

Reading Block: Ms. McArdle is looking for volunteers to run reading groups with her 1st grade students. The reading block runs from 11:05 to 11:45 (Monday through Friday) and involves reading plus activities. If you can help, please contact Ms. McArdle<mailto:cmcardle at falmouth.k12.ma.us>



Math Games: Mrs. Gouin would welcome a volunteer to join her 2nd grade classroom on Friday afternoons from 1:20 to 2:00 pm to play math games with students. If you can help, please contact Mrs. Gouin<mailto:tgouin at falmouth.k12.ma.us>



Holiday Fair: The Teaticket PTO is looking for volunteers to help students shop for members of their household. This is a long-standing holiday tradition, that allows every student to select gifts regardless of their ability to pay. This two-day event has three

two-hour shifts on Thursday, December 8, and Friday, December 9 (9:00 to 11:00 am, 11:00 am to 1:00 pm, and 1:00 to 3:00 pm). If you can help, please contact

North Falmouth Elementary School

Math Support: Ms. LeBoeuf has a 4th grade student who needs support with the 4th grade math concepets. Volunteers are welcome to help this student Tuesday through Friday, from 9:10 to 9:40 am. If you can help, please contact Ms. LeBoeuf<mailto:kleboeuf at falmouth.k12.ma.us>.





Mullen-Hall Elementary School

Photographing Student's Artwork: Ms. Johnson would like a volunteer to take pictures of the student's artwork for the ArtSonia program. Volunteers are welcome to come in on Mondays and Wednesdays anytime from 9:00 am to 2:00 pm. If you can help, please contact Ms. Johnson<mailto:njohnson at falmouth.k12.ma.us>.



Band Volunteers: Mrs. Fietek would love to have volunteers for the band program on Wednesday and/or Thursday mornings from 8:00 to 9:00 am. In particular, she is looking for saxophone and clarinet helpers.





Morse Pond School

Science Fair Brainstorming Sessions: Mrs. Zaino's 6th grade team would welcome

guest speakers to talk about their science and/or engineering work and how it relates to the scientific method. If you are available during the week of January 9, please contact Mrs. Zaino<mailto:rzaino at falmouth.k12.ma.us>.





Falmouth High School

Book Discussion: FHS seniors in Mr. Sullivan's class will be reading and discussing George Orwell's book 1984. Mr. Sullivan would welcome volunteers with a backgrounds or knowledge of national security, surveillance, government experience, and/or overall knowledge of the book to come in an speak with his class. Guest Speakers for Principles of Business Class: Ms. Rocha's Principles of Business students are wrapping up their study on entrepreneurship, and would enjoy meeting members of the community who are entrepreneurs, owners, and mangers of local businesses. The class meets from 7:30 to 8:19 am, and the day of the week is flexible. If you are able to come in to discuss your business, please contact Ms. Rocha<mailto:jrocha at falmouth.k12.ma.us>.



Basketball Scorekeepers and Timekeeprs: If you enjoy basketball, and keeping score and time, please contact Mrs. Burke<mailto:kburke at falmouth.k12.ma.us> for a schedule of the games. This can be shared by several volunteers.

Created in 1982, VIPS placed its first 8 volunteer tutors at Falmouth High School in 1983.

Falmouth VIPS turns 40!



This school year marks the 40th anniversary of the Falmouth VIPS Program. We will be celebrating this milestone by sharing stories and profiling volunteers and community partners who have played an important role to the program over the past four decades.
