Weather-wise, it’s been a rotten Spring, but the skies cleared for last Monday's celestial event. Similarly, with threats all around and Town Meeting season upon us, Earth Day’s approach highlights the need for individual and collective action in protecting our water, ecological assets, and climate. This month’s Tuesday Talk focuses on near-term opportunities for making a difference. This event is open to all; time for Q&A will be provided.

Featured topics and speakers include

  * Local Fertilizer & Pesticide Control Legislation, Michael Hermann, Orleans Select Board
  * Pesticide Reduction Bylaws in Eastham, Wellfleet & Harwich, Laura Kelley, Protect Our Cape Cod Aquifer
  * Tree Protection & Nitrogen/Pesticide Reduction Bylaws in Harwich, Patrick Otton
  * Urine Diversion in Falmouth, Hilda Maingay & Earle Barnhart, The Green Center
  * Combating Misinformation on Offshore Wind, Nate Mayo, Vineyard Offshore

Attendees also will learn how to register support for landmark climate resiliency regulations and heightened protections for threatened horseshoe crab populations. Sierra Club members and supporters are encouraged to bring their own suggestions for advocacy around Earth Day.
