Sierra Club's Cape Cod & Islands Group invites you to join our virtual “Third Tuesday" talk on July 21st at 7 pm to hear the Democratic candidates for Barnstable County Commissioner introduce themselves and highlight their environmental protection and climate response priorities as the state primary approaches on September 1st.

The best voter is an informed citizen - on July 21st, come learn who's on the ballot!

This virtual forum is free and open to the public. Candidates will give timed statements and respond to questions, some provided in advance by Sierra Club. Attendees will be encouraged to submit questions during the event, and the video recording will be made available for on-demand viewing.

Barnstable County is unique in Massachusetts as a robust regional government delivering land use planning and regulation, public health, solid waste, dredge, emergency planning, and other services across 15 towns. The Board of Regional Commissioners is responsible for managing the County’s budget and resources, supervising Cape Cod Commission and other County agencies and departments, and appointing representatives to numerous regional boards.

One of the three County Commissioner seats is up for grabs in Fall 2026. All three Democratic candidates have committed to attending Sierra Club’s July 21st forum - learn more about them by visiting their websites:
