“Music on the Patio” is typically held on Fridays on WHOI’s Redfield Patio (45 Water Street in Woods Hole).

Top Down October<Short%20band%20bio:%20%20%20%20%20Top%20Down%20October%20was%20born%20during%20the%20covid%20years%20as%20a%20way%20for%20singer%20songwriter%20Alex%20Franks%20to%20work%20his%20creative%20muscle.%20It%20has%20morphed%20into%20a%20family%20and%20friends%20affair%20with%20several%20of%20the%20members%20sharing%20singing%20and%20writing%20duties.%20Band%20members%20are%20Alex%20Franks%20(guitar,%20bass,%20vocals),%20Adrian%20Weigman%20(drums),%20and%20new%20to%20the%20band%20Nathan%20Chu%20(bass,%20guitar,%20vocals)%20and%20Courtney%20Franks%20on%20vocals%20and%20bass!%20The%20band%20has%20played%20shows%20around%20Falmouth%20in%20various%20configurations%20since%20getting%20together%20in%20late%202024,%20hosting%20their%20own%20events%20at%20the%20Woods%20Hole%20Community%20Hall%20and%20playing%20at%20North%20Falmouth%20Porchfest.%20They%20most%20recently%20played%20at%20Music%20Alley,%20a%20local%20original%20music%20spotlight%20at%20Falmouth’s%20Timber%20Axe%20Bar%20&%20Bowl.%20%20%20%20%20The%20music%20can%20be%20described%20as%20%22Dad%20Rock%22,%20a%20good%20clean%20fun%20mix%20of%20folk%20and%20rock%20music,%20with%20a%20little%20bit%20of%20soul%20and%20country%20thrown%20in%20for%20good%20measure.%20Song%20topics%20cover%20real%20life%20from%20the%20mundane%20to%20abstract%20and%20extraordinary.%20A%20truly%20family%20friendly%20band,%20the%20group%20typically%20hosts%20shows%20during%20hours%20when%20adults%20with%20children%20can%20attend,%20and%20their%20own%20two%20girls%20are%20often%20in%20attendance,%20dancing%20with%20their%20friends!> was born during the COVID years as a way for singer-songwriter Alex Franks to work his creative muscle. It has morphed into a family and friends affair with several of the members sharing singing and writing duties. Band members are Alex Franks (guitar, bass, vocals), Adrian Weigman (drums), and new to the band Nathan Chu (bass, guitar, vocals) and Courtney Franks on vocals and bass! The band has played shows around Falmouth in various configurations since getting together in late 2024, hosting their own events at the Woods Hole Community Hall and playing at North Falmouth Porchfest. They most recently played at Music Alley, a local original music spotlight at Falmouth’s Timber Axe Bar & Bowl.

The music can be described as "Dad Rock", a good clean, fun mix of folk and rock music, with a little bit of soul and country thrown in for good measure. Song topics cover real life from the mundane to abstract and extraordinary. A truly family-friendly band, the group typically hosts shows during hours when adults with children can attend, and their own two girls are often in attendance, dancing with their friends!
