Sailing, Science, and Life Aboard SEA’s Tall Ship, the SSV Corwith Cramer

Join the Woods Hole Science and Technology Education Partnership (WHSTEP<https://web.whoi.edu/whstep/>) and the Sea Education Association (SEA<https://sea.edu/>) for a dockside Family Science Night on board the Corwith Cramer. Participate in several hands-on learning stations while alongside the pier: practice how to set and strike a sail, learn the mechanics of steering a ship, and keep yourself (and your shipmates) safe. Meet SEA’s science team, work with oceanographic equipment, and explore samples collected at sea during a recent voyage. Deploy one of our nets from the deck and explore the mysterious world of marine plankton under the microscope. Head down below-deck and see where SEA students and crew sleep, eat, and socialize!
