WILDFLOWER GARDEN PLANT SALE AT GREEN BRIAR

            Mark the calendar for Saturday, May 30 and plan to come by the Annual Plant Sale taking place from 9am to 2pm at the Thornton W. Burgess Green Briar Nature Center, 6 Discovery Hill Road (off Route 6A), East Sandwich. Select from a limited number of true wildflowers, native and naturalized, dug from the nature center’s award-winning Shirley G. Cross Wildflower Garden. Also offered are perennials, annuals, small ornamental trees and shrubs.  Full sun, full shade, and wet area choices available. All proceeds support maintenance of this special garden enjoyed by the public spring, summer and fall.

            If your garden beds need dividing, or if you have extra seedlings, please consider donating any houseplants, herbs, vegetables and seedlings.   Call Green Briar at 508-888-6870 and arrange to drop them off prior to the sale day.



JUNE “SKETCH WALKS” AT GREEN BIRAR

“Sketch Walks” are new this year at the Thornton W. Burgess Green Briar Nature Center in East Sandwich.  On Thursdays, June 4 and June 18 from 10am to 11am, artist and entomologist Escher Cattle will lead small groups through the beautiful nature center grounds.  Sketch pads and pencils will be provided so you can capture what you see.  This will be a relaxing and informative morning for those with an interest in art, nature and wildlife.
