[Xenopus] NXR-Xenbase announcement

[National Xenopus Resource]

Dear Xenopus colleagues 
With the dramatic success of CRISPRs and TALENs and the growing number of transgenic lines we (Xenbase and the NXR) would like to survey the community as to how they maintain their Xenopus colonies and the interest in the community for these new genome editing technologies. Specifically, we would like to know whether you maintain your Xenopus colonies in (1) flow through systems using local city water mains or (2) a recirculating system with defined water and how you plan on integrating these new genome editing technologies into your lab. 

Xenbase and NXR are asking for your assistance. We are asking you to fill out a survey on this topic to identify what housing systems you use and how/if the community will start using the new genome editing technologies. There is some overlap between the two because if you are wanting to raise your own tadpoles to adulthood to create null offspring you may have to buy a new housing module. We are also soliciting information about whether you are interested in using the NXR genome editing resource. Please use the comments box at the end of the survey to communicate comments not covered in the survey.
