Dear colleagues,
We are pleased to share our newly published article in BMC Genomics:

Brief summary of the work
In this study we generated and analyzed 44 whole-genome resequencing
dataset from wild *Xenopus laevis *populations spanning multiple geographic
locations across South Africa, generating over 260 million genetic variants
- the first large scale population genomic resource for wild *Xenopus
laevis*. Using this dataset, we found:
1) *X. laevis* populations are highly structured, reflecting ancient
divergence shaped by South Africa's climate and geography.
2) Despite its hybrid origin (two sub-genomes, L and S-subgenome), both of
its sub-genomes are evolving under similar selective pressures showing that
the genome has reached stability after millions of years of evolution.
*Raw data availability*
All 44 WGS datasets are deposited and publicly available here:
https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/bioproject/PRJNA1279774
We hope this data will be useful to the *Xenopus* community :)
We welcome questions and collaboration.
With best regards,
--
