Dear colleagues,

I am writing on behalf of the organizing committee for AQMHD 2026, the 12th Aquatic Models of Human Disease Conference, to ask whether you would be willing to share the announcement below with your members through your mailing list, newsletter, website, or social media channels.

AQMHD brings together researchers using aquatic organisms and other non-mammalian systems to understand human biology and disease. The meeting highlights both established and emerging models, with broad relevance to developmental biology, evolution, genetics, physiology, regeneration, toxicology, disease modeling, comparative biology, and related fields.

The 2026 meeting will be held October 17–21, 2026 at the Marine Biological Laboratory in Woods Hole, Massachusetts. Abstract submission is now open, with a deadline of August 10, 2026.

We would be very grateful if you could share this opportunity with your community, especially trainees, postdocs, early-career researchers, and investigators working with aquatic or comparative models.

Announcement to share

Abstract submission is open for AQMHD 2026!

The 12th Aquatic Models of Human Disease Conference will take place October 17–21, 2026 at the Marine Biological Laboratory in Woods Hole, Massachusetts.

AQMHD brings together researchers using aquatic organisms and emerging non-mammalian systems to understand human biology and disease. The meeting provides a forum for work spanning development, regeneration, cancer, genomics, functional genetics, metabolism, immunology and microbiome biology, toxicology, behavior, physiology, evolution, nutrition, and comparative disease models.

We welcome abstracts from researchers working across established and emerging systems, including zebrafish, gar, killifish, medaka, stickleback, Xiphophorus, lamprey, Xenopus, cephalopods, squid, hydra, Nematostella, tunicates, sea urchins, planarians, ctenophores, Ciona, echinoderms, Aiptasia, coral, Aplysia, and more!

Abstracts may be considered for a 15-minute talk, poster, or poster plus lightning talk. Abstract text is limited to 250 words.
