BARRISTER’S BENCH LECTURE SERIES WITH CHRIS LAND ON JULY 16 
Chris Land, WHOI’s vice president for legal affairs and general counsel, will hold the second talk in a lecture series titled “Barrister’s Bench Lecture Series,” on Wednesday, July 16 from 11:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m., in Redfield Auditorium. The lecture is titled “Effective Media and Production Contracts for TV and Film. ” The lecture, by Oscar winner and media attorney O¹Brian Kelly and TV and film finance attorney Meg Kaul, will cover how to get the best deal for you and WHOI. They will walk through the best practices for negotiating TV deals, preferable TV contract terms, and the options, benefits, and risks from production terms (exclusivity vs. rights of first review/refusal). They will also share inside tips on dealing with production companies and networks.
