Cape Cod Canal Pipeline Relocation Expansion: What the Frack?

Join us to learn about the proposed expansion of fracked-gas infrastructure threatening to increase Cape Cod's reliance on expensive and polluting fuel and how you can get involved in the Cape Cod Commission’s decision-making process on this "Development of Regional Impact." You'll leave this community meeting with a better understanding of Algonquin Gas Transmission's proposed pipeline expansion project, how to submit public comment, and next steps in supporting renewable and affordable energy for Cape Cod.

Sierra Club is not opposed to the relocation of existing pipeline infrastructure in support of replacing the Sagamore and Bourne bridges but opposes pipeline expansion and in particular Algonquin Gas Transmission's use of public funds to undermine state decarbonization mandates and the community-based goals and objectives defined in the Cape Cod Regional Policy Plan.

Additional information resources, including the recording and presentations from our August 18th pipeline expansion talk as well as previous public comments submitted by Sierra Club, are available on our campaign webpage at https://www.sierraclub.org/massachusetts/cape-cod-canal-pipeline-expansion
