Dear Xenopus Community
The organizers of the next PI meeting (Brian Mitchell, Laura Anne Lowery and Marko Horb) are now beginning the preparations for the meeting. I am writing to update you on the topics to be discussed and to request abstracts from individuals wishing to speak at the meeting. As in previous years this meeting is meant to encourage talks that are best suited to the entire community. We have chosen 8 session topics that will be listed below. We encourage all PIs and senior postdocs to submit abstracts if you would like to present at the meeting.

Please email xenopus at mbl.edu with your abstract if you would like to be considered for a talk at the meeting. Please keep in mind that even if you are not chosen for a talk the meeting is a fantastic venue for discussions on the topics and will be beneficial to you as the size of the meeting allows for many informal discussions.

If you would like to present please send us your abstract and in which session you would like to present. In this year's PI meeting we are also adding a new session for new PIs. We encourage all young investigators (assistant professor or equivalent) to submit an abstract for that session as we would like to hear about the research developing in new labs. We would like new investigators to become more involved in the community. Please inform us of your status if you are submitting an abstract for the new PI session.

The topics that will be covered at the PI meeting are:

1) Genome Editing

2) Genomes

3) Morpholino issues

4) Bioinfomatics/Genomics/Proteomics

5) Microscopy

6) new PIs

7) Husbandry

8) Strategic planning

We are excited by having as many of you as can attend, even if you are not presenting. If you have any questions do not hesitate to contact us. I will update the website (http://www.mbl.edu/xenopus/pi-meeting-2) with prices for the event in the near future, but the cost will be kept as low as possible.

We look forward to another exciting event and welcome your input.

Sincerely,

The organizing committee
Laura Anne Lowery
Brian Mitchell
Marko Horb
