Dear Colleagues,

I am pleased to inform you that one of my collaborators, Dr Shunichi
Shimasaki, is able to distribute recombinant human follistatin protein due
to his retirement.
Follistatin inhibits activin, BMPs, ADMP and some TGF-b related proteins by
direct binding.
The available follistatin is follistatin-288 (a short variant) and has more
potent inhibitory activities than follistatin-315 (full length) for FSH
secretion.
Ref: Endocrinology 129:815-822, 1991
The protein was lyophilised and has been stored at -20°C for 30 years!
An aliquot of 1 mg/request is distributed to individuals for non-profit
research.

If you are interested in obtaining the protein, please contact Dr Shunichi
Shimasaki at UCSD.

He will be happy to answer any questions you may have.

Sincerely,

Naoto Ueno
