Dear Xenopus community
I am pleased to announce we have two new centriole transgenic lines that were generated for Brian Mitchell and which he has kindly made available to the community prior to publication. These two lines are:
Xla.Tg(tuba1a:deup1-eGFP)NXR
Tubulin promoter driving expression of Deup1 fused to eGFP labeling both deuterosomes and centrioles specifically in multi-ciliated cells. This is a great marker for visualizing centrioles.
Xla.Tg(CMV:cetn4-RFP)NXR
CMV promoter driving expression of centrin 4 (cetn4) fused with RFP labeling centrioles in all cells. Note: while the expression level and centriole fluorescent intensity is quite high in most cells, the number of centrioles in multi-ciliated cells appears to dilute the intensity/centriole.
Sincerely,
Marko Horb
